As a member of the Client Concierge Team, your goal will be to become a shining example of Sidebar’s purpose. You will engage and interact with clients old and new. Clients with claims. Clients with questions. And you will be expected to serve these clients with the honesty and humility that demonstrates our purpose.
This position will begin as a part-time role and is open to entry-level workers or experienced insurance professionals. With experience, training, and skill development, we hope that the successful candidate grows into bigger and better roles with our company that provide greater compensation and responsibility.
Sidebar Insurance Solutions, Inc. was founded in 2016 and retains a core base of loyal clients. We have been blessed with steady growth and are committed to seeing that continue through effective retention strategies, consistent marketing efforts, and incredible staff.
We have a single location in Orland Park but service the greater Chicagoland and Illinois area.
Being an Independent Agency, we have access to multiple insurance companies and are able to provide better choices and value for our client’s insurance dollar. We also use our superior knowledge and experience in insurance to provide our clients with a true understanding of how insurance works – and why it is so important.
We are looking for candidates that value flexibility and the satisfaction of accomplishing great things. Compensation will be paid hourly with the potential to earn more through referral and performance bonuses. With time, we hope that the successful candidate will grow into salaried roles with greater pay and responsibility.
Our normal business hours are 9-5 Monday through Friday. However, the part-time role will allow the successful candidate input in the hours they work from the office. Additionally, Sidebar understands you may have commitments outside of work. As such, we will do our best to provide flexibility in the hours and locations where you work.
Successful candidates must demonstrate integrity and attention to detail. We also seek candidates that exhibit service, positivity, humility, empathy, honesty, and confidence.
An insurance license or insurance experience is not needed to qualify for the position. However, in order to maximize your earning potential as well as your value to our clients, you may want to become licensed in Property and Casualty insurance. You will also need to be able to pass a background check and reference checks. We will do both.
Other Skills Needed to Thrive in this Position
Computer-Literacy – We utilize many different applications to accomplish our work. Some of the systems are simple and intuitive, others are quirky. You should feel confident in computer systems, be motivated to find ways they can make you better and adapt quickly to changes when they are made.
Teachable – Our vision is different than the average insurance agency. In order to support our vision, you may need to learn – and the successful candidate must be excited to learn and share ways to better serve our clients.
Communication – You need to clearly and correctly communicate with clients in person, over the telephone, through email, text and social media. We want to meet our clients where they are and interact with them in the manner they prefer. You need to be articulate.
Attention to Detail – Insurance is full of questions that require specificity and accuracy. The successful candidate should take pride in getting it right each and every time.
Interpersonal – You will need to work closely with our clients and vendors. You will need to effectively build trust and convey our value proposition to all of those stakeholders. You will need to understand your strengths and weaknesses and adapt to those.
Math – You don’t need to be a budding Einstein, and you can use a calculator, but you have to be comfortable doing quick calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide).
Organized – You will need to be able to plan, schedule and monitor your activities while setting priorities and meeting deadlines. You WILL be interrupted. So, you will need to be able to adapt to that without losing efficiency.
